My Background

Contrary to the perception implicit in the name of this gallery, I am not from Germany although my ancestral roots do come from there. I live in Maryland where my profession as a program director at the National Institutes of Health keeps me busy to administrate funding certain aspects of cancer research.

Aside from being happily married and an empty nester with two German Shepherds, I have the reputation with my friends of frequently going out into nature chasing the latest novel bird discovered that may be an attractive photographic target. Thus, I could be described as an enthusiast wildlife photographer who aims to take quality photos that any professional photographer would strive for. My life as a research scientist serves me well to apply the technical know-how needed for digital photography. In the spirit of sharing these experiences with nature, my photography is available for purchase or rights of use. Many of the better photos seen here can also been seen through my Instagram account.
